This is one our favorite F.H.E.'s by far.....We do it about three times per year. Each time we focus on something different but of course the boys especially love the dressing up. (Thank heavens you can find anything on ebay!)

We were able to get the kids to see that Satan will not come in the form of a bad guy. He will not be someone you know is dangerous or even someone you sense could be bad. He will come in music, T.V., movies. He will come in the choice of clothing and language you use. He may even secretly be a good friend starting to do bad things.
They know that without the "Whole" amour, parts of us can be exposed. One small chink in our amour can be the downfall of anyone; no matter how great they may be viewed in or out of the church. I believe that they finally understood why the gospel is the greatest gift on Earth. So I thought it was time that they also know that even though it is the greatest gift, we cannot give it to anyone. We love it, we believe it, we value it above all the riches of the Earth!! But only Heaven Father & the Holy Ghost can confirm someones testimony. We only truly have the gospel in our lives when we are standing on our own personal testimony and convictions.
I will raise my children in the light of the gospel. I will promise to do all the things that I have covenanted with my Father in Heaven. I will obey all the things our prophets have asked of us but at some point my children will stand alone in the world. They will no longer lean on me or be following my example. They will use their agency to choose for themselves what "Truth" is, if the gospel is "Truth". That choice will guide them the rest of their lives. I pray daily that all the effort and preparation that Aaron and I are doing now will provide them with the opportunities to begin to have Heavenly Father & the Holy Ghost start to give them their own personal revelations. That they will begin in their youth to believe in the word of God, that they will choose wisely when their defining moments come. I want no other gifts for my children on this Earth than to form strong testimonies of the gospel and to personally know their Father in Heaven, our Savior Jesus Christ and enjoy the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost.
I love you all and wish these beautiful gifts for everyone if only they were mine to give.....
