One nice thing about Bear Lake is that it is close enough to run to the Wyoming border to buy fireworks and still be back within an hour. Aaron spent more than he should have on fireworks but it was all worth it!! It took us two nights to light all of them off. This was the first year we taught all the kids to light their own fireworks off (we saved the BIG ones for Daddy). Each kid had their own punk lit and we had a line; everyone waiting for their own turn to light their special tank or Chinese lantern or whatever they had chosen. It was so much fun. All the kids enjoyed their glow lights and dancing in front of the blinking fountain fireworks. I think this was Luke's favorite part! He just love to preform. Seth of coarse just loved the power of lighting things on fire ( a true boy)! Paige enjoyed watching and her special lantern. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.
I do have to say that fireworks always make me think of my Dad and his birthday being on this special holiday. Who says even a grown woman can't get a little nostalgic for her Daddy.
We were without Uncle Zann on this 4th as he is serving with the National Guard right now. I know how truly blessed we are to live in this promised land. A land of Freedoms we can't even begin to compare to other countries. I am honored to know those who have and do serve to protect our freedoms especially the freedom to worship as we choose. Thank you to those I know and those I don't. You are all truly appreciated by the Martindale family!!!
